Description
Morelli’s Anelli are small, ring-shaped pasta shapes from southern Italy. You can add it to soups as an alternative to pastina and stellini. Alternatively, serve it in a light tomato sauce – like homemade spaghetti hoops!
You can simmer anelli in chicken stock for a simple, nourishing meal. We like to add it to Italian soups like minestrone and pasta e fagioli.
In Sicily, anelli is used in baked pasta dishes called timballo. At home, you can mix it with tomato sauce or leftover ragu. Top with cheese and bake until it’s gooey and golden. It’s a comforting, spoonable supper to devour on the sofa.
Morelli pasta is bronze-drawn and dried slowly at low temperatures. This is the secret to the rough surface that helps sauces to cling.
Cooking time: 18 minutes.
Store in a cool and dry place, away from cereals.
About Morelli
Morelli is a family-run pasta company based in Tuscany. They have been producing artisan pasta since 1860. Morelli is unusual in that some of their pasta includes durum wheat germ. This gives it a distinctive nutty flavour and aroma. Their range also includes flavoured pasta and regional specialities.
